A Body of Art

Beauty – Toronto

Artist Avala Moore ("V"), believes in the spiritual and physical healing capabilities of art. Through her work, she aims to create an avenue of mutual expression for the artist and the subject. "Body Art is a very personal endeavor to explore and it requires a great deal of trust from both parties". Working in the medium of body paint, V allows inner thoughts, feelings and struggles, to be carried on the surface as a work of art. Having human canvases allows the work to take on real life, and having a model carry the meaning allows for honest and deep interpretations. When viewed by an audience, the work has a chance to physically interact with the viewers making artwork tangible in a very unique way. V's work has been used in many locations such as the Cosplay scene, Conferences, The Toronto Pride Parade, and can be viewed on the cover of H.D. Moore's first novel, "Broken Faith". She has also lead workshops on community artwork, body art and communal expression, and art as a spiritual practice while her multi-media work can also be found in churches and hospitals in the GTA
