Nellie Davis

Hey there, Nellie here. I grew up in Portland, Oregon and have since made my home in Reno, Nevada. I am the owner of a local Midtown salon, Outsiders Hair Studio and write a monthly style and beauty bit for Reno Tahoe Tonight Magazine called \"Under the Influence.\" As a grade school assignment, we were asked to make a poster of the age old question \"what do you want to be when you grow up?\" While all the other kids had generic answers like police officer and teacher, I on the other hand, knew my path- beautician. As I grew older, and my friends were coming to me for haircuts and prom hair, my passion was becoming more apparent. Still to this day, my life entirely revolves around that fire to make people feel beauty. When I\'m behind the chair and my clients come to me after a bad day, a breakup or their house burnt down expecting me to make them feel at their most beautiful best, it\'s encouraging to know that I\'m doing exactly what I\'m supposed to. I take everyday as it comes, learning, pushing my creativity to beyond that \"box.\" I\'m 24, a mother, a boss and yet I feel like my life has only just begun.
