TWIYA

TWIYA [The World Is Yours Always] is a hip-hop songbird and visual artist with east coast roots. She began as a shy music lover, with her family often joking that as a baby, she began singing before she could really talk. Growing up between Seattle and Baltimore, she spent many years on stage in choir and acting programs, and later behind the camera as a film student. She took a jump into the spotlight as a solo music artist in 2017, with breakout single "Afronauts" (ft local rapper BlkSknn) becoming a crowd favorite. Coupled with her chill demeanor and velvety vocal arrangements, this artist has a way of commanding the energy around her, and the world is truly hers (and yours) during every show. With musical influences like Amerie, India.Arie, and Erykah Badu, her music has been described as soulful and lyrical, and sometimes futuristic. The singer-songwriter debuted her first studio project in September 2018, building consistent momentum and a steadily growing fan base that she lovingly calls, "The Afronauts". Her mixtape, "PRZM" is set for release in Spring 2019.
