Visual Art – Charlotte
Heath Turner grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He has been drawn to art since the 7th grade - focusing on drawing. He got interested in sculpture and painting in high school and also studied the craft of ceramics. Throwing on the wheel and hand building is where he spent most of his time. He then went on to Brevard College to study sculpture and started to explore different materials such as metal and wood. He became very interested in the casting method, with his senior show being a series of casted hearts. After graduating college he has moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and has found his passion through painting large abstract pieces with his inspiration of nature.
