Troy Barsa

My name is Troy Barsa. I’m currently a Fine Arts BFA at Parsons School of Design. I’m originally from San Diego, CA, where I began experimenting with different visual media. I’m motivated by a strong interest in the mind and body. Though I do mainly portraits, I have an affinity for morphing body parts and allowing a viewer to see the slimy and grotesque as something beautiful. As I grow as an artist, I find myself becoming more interested in found materials and more unconventional approaches. I enjoy visualizing my surroundings as paintings, this helps me see new details of our reality that I may’ve missed otherwise. Art, to me, is about observation, exploration and participation. Trying new things and putting my all into each new endeavor.
