Visual Art – Connecticut

I make bold woodcuts and drawings that are symbols of a trashy underground lifestyle. These prints are a primitive look at the underground Hartford scene full of crust punks and bike couriers, Rebelling musicans, artists and people who just like to party and have a good time. They are images that represent new ideas and people that are simply just tired of the old mainstream onesI want to give a subculture a voice that is looked at as low life by society’s standards. This is my history and it is my world. Nothing profound or deep. I draw what I love and people that I love. It’s the way I see the world. I document both past and present years of my life in my home town Manchester Ct, this city and the places I have traveled to. This includes the people, places and experiences that have shaped who I am and influenced the way I think. I make images of what I love; beer, tattoos, bands, shows, bikes, punk rock, my friends, my family, traveling, touring in a band, or just taking a nice crap…simple as that. In these images I use symbols and inside jokes that only the people close to me would understand. These symbols are the most important things in my history. I use compositions that are based on religious paintings and events from the Byzantine era of art. I want my symbols to by iconic. I want my images and my lifestyle to be holy. I also like to use my images as a way to stand up against such injustices as homophobia, racism, sexism and so on.
