Visual Art – Orange County

Originally from Upstate New York, I ventured to the Tampa Bay area of Florida to attend college for Fine Art sculpture. I have acquired a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2010. Currently I work as the assistant manager of a privately owned custom frame shop in Orange County, where I create custom designs for clients as well as work on the production of orders. My collective works represent an array of creative processes, from handmade crafts to politically and socially driven fine art. I am inspired by the beauty of the environment and the social relationships in contemporary western culture. My artistic process begins with research, whether that implies reading various news resources or scanning through images on the internet. It is almost imperative that I indulge in multiple sources of media before diving into the expression of my own thoughts. I have a knack for running in the opposite direction as well. There are times I create loosely in a way where the art takes over. I let the materials do their job by allowing them to land on their own how ever they please. There is a wonderful push and pull in the process where I attempt to control what is being created, but the process continuously reminds me that I can not have complete control over the final outcome. I believe this creates a beautiful final product, one I could not have conceived if it were not for those uncontrollable moments.
