Sandy Mitchell has been living and dyeing in Atlanta, GA for most of her life. She made her first tie-dye shirt when she was 7, and has been hooked ever since. 16 years and thousands of tie-dyes later, her techniques, patterns, and skills continue to evolve. Half of her wardrobe is rainbow, and she gets asked about her purple stained fingers often! “Hippie”, “Princess of Tie-dye”, and “The T-shirt Girl” are all names that she has answered to with a smile.
In 2012, after a high demand from family and friends, Sandy opened up her online store, www.TieDyeBySandy.com, where she now sells her wearable art worldwide. She now makes everything from classic rainbow spirals to intricate psychedelic mandalas. She feels fortunate to be able to make and share something that she grew up loving with people all over the world!
