Tamara Kurtenbach has been sewing since the age of 11 and designing professionally for over 15 years. After finishing her studies in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute Of Technology in New York City, she opted for entrepreneurship instead of corporate and launched her clothing line, The Passionate Lion. Created in 2003 using out of pocket funding, The Passionate Lion specializes in custom made, one of a kind clothing. Kurtenbach\'s pieces boast detail and craftsmanship that can only be truly appreciated in person. Designs from The Passionate Lion are full of life, color, bohemian details, militant undertones, femininity, trendiness and are hoped to evoke passion in the wearer. The Passionate Lion\'s customer is confident, open minded, and loves to reinvent herself. Kurtenbach has continued to grow the company over the past decade constantly searching for ways to touch her audience and inspire them to be passionate about love, life, and fashion. Kurtenbach has also teamed up with fashion enthusiast and former model/actor Lorenzo Ballard to create a brother clothing line, NDN. The acronym NDN stands for Native Design Nation. Creative Director for NDN and Native American himself, Ballard is inspired by the beauty of his people, their rich culture, and the pride of Native Americans. NDN specializes in custom made pieces embellished with hand made leather appliques. The process of creating each hand made piece for NDN is such an organic and personal experience.
