Visual Art – New York - Brooklyn

Lyn Harris was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. She dabbled in art as a young teenager, but didn't get serious about pursuing art professionally until 2012. In college she thought she wanted to pursue a career in Finance & marketing and later realized that art was the only subject worth studying. Although she majored in Graphic Design, she did not have any formal training in painting or illustration. When Lyn is not painting she is either illustrating digitally or doing still photography. Her style is a blend of pop, modern, and contemporary art and her work speaks on mental illnesses and the way we attempt to compartmentalize them in the black community. Her use of an abstract eye mask, detailed patterns, and vivid colors represents the various disorders often ignored and hidden throughout society.
