Tate Hudson

Visual Art – Pittsburgh

Tate Hudson generates his own source material for collage by initially painting on paper with diluted acrylic. Fabricating the elements affords greater color control, yields unique interactions and creates exploratory opportunities. The imagery found in the work is derived from various sources including photographs taken by the artist. Blurring the boundaries between painter and collagist, Hudson embraces the clash of techniques, and produces painterly collage.
