Sweet Malice

Visual Art – Chicago

I grew up on the north side of Chicago. From a very young age, I wanted to design and make clothes. I was a member of both the National Art Honors Society and art club in the all-girls Catholic school that I attended as a teenager. Making jewelry was my forte. During my attendance at I.A.D.T., I became pregnant and was forced to quit school to raise my child. I became an exotic dancer in order to support myself and my new family. I pretty much put my art on the back burner. Life threw many struggles my way, including depression, domestic abuse, child custody battles and low self esteem. I am getting back into my art, using it as a form of therapy to help me persevere. My long term goal is to have my creative images on clothing and accessories, and to have art be a big source of my income. This is the biggest art show of my career so far. I absolutely thrilled to be a part of it!
