Accessories – Melbourne
I create traditional Sámi (indigenous Scandinavians), and contemporary Scandinavian influenced leather works through designer jewellery and accessories.
Mixing the softest naturally tanned reindeer leather, spun pewter/silver threads, sterling silver, antler buttons and magnetic clasps I produce eye catching and unique handcrafts pieces here in Melbourne.
This art form has been a handcraft of the Sámi culture from the 17th Century.
With the increased interest seen by/for guys at the markets, I am now working to bring out a modern combination of reindeer leather and pewter collection for the guys. This will be highlighted at the coming markets.
My love for the mediums that I use comes from my heritage. Born I Stockholm with a mother from northern Sweden, it has definitely been a part of me growing up. To introduce and share this type of leatherworks and art form in Australia, which is very unique and unknown here, is fantastic.
