Sparrow-Folk

Music – Canberra

Sparrow-Folk is the musical brain-child of performers Catherine Crowley (Fox) and Juliet Moody (Lark). The band formed in 2012, as a vessel for two women to escape their busy households for an hour or two at a time to play music and sip wine. Little did they know, their wine inspired music would catch-on and their cosy living room rehearsal space would be swapped for packed crowds in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide. After winning the ABC Exhumed competition for the ACT in 2013, Sparrow-Folk released their debut album \'The Fox and The Lark\' featuring the hit single \'Ruin Your Day.\' The music clip reached half a million online views just 2 short weeks after its release. They recently performed at the Adelaide Fringe receiving multiple 5 star reviews and a highly commended award for cabaret in the weekly awards. Described as \"adorkable\", the uke donning Sparrow-Folk define the modern Australian woman - glamorously awkward, honest and charming. Unable to define their music by traditional genre, Fox and Lark created their own – “glam folk.”
