Sergiy

Sergiy Andreyev was born in 1971 in the city of Zaporozhye in what was then the Ukrainian SSR. There, he finished Art School in 1985 specializing in Caricature. Since early on, Sergiy was fascinated by the drawing style of the Comics from the West, that, unfortunately, were censored by the USSR government. Meanwhile he pursued a successful career as a urologist specializing in surgery. His caricatures were featured in several art exhibitions in Ukraine and Italy before immigrating to the US in 2005. Mainly he utilizes bold color technique to define his drawing style. His current work uses a unique combination of oil painting and ink on canvas. The ink draws the eye to the important details of the painting while emphasizing the different gradients of the paint. Sergiy has been living in Los Angeles since 2005.
