Performing Art – Raleigh

Marco Levati is afraid of being alone. He uses his fear as a map to find ways to connect with other people, and is inspired by the magic of tango to do just that. He began to study this rich improvisational form in 2010. Since then he has danced and studied in his home country of Italy, as well as Argentina, Spain, Switzerland, France, USA and Canada. His studies in engineering, yoga, chinese martial arts, meditation, somatics, modern dance, and gymnastics all influence his unique "fingerprint". Marco's principles are playfulness, discipline, action, dreaming, and many others yet to be unfolded. Elise Dorsett was living in Buenos Aires in 2011 when she realized that dancing made her feel alive. She uses tango to explore diverse themes and challenges in her life: mindfulness, authentic movement, independence, commitment, and gender roles. She has practiced and performed with Marco since 2014. Her principles are joy, generosity, and creative expression. Elise is also a certified yoga instructor, and she continues to study other movement practices to enrich her dancing and teaching. Marco and Elise teach at Cirque de Vol in Downtown Raleigh.
