On The Bright Side

Music – Richmond

On the Bright Side was borne from the early musings of Amanda Rain (lead vocals, keyboard, guitar, et alia). She first showed promise as a songwriter at the age of 12 when she wrote a song for her brother Sean, who was recently diagnosed with Autism. From there her songwriting continued nonstop. The result was inevitable: Form a band and release an album. Fingers Crossed was recorded in 2012, marking the beginning of a dynamic partnership between the band and Matt Anthony (Halestorm, Train, Shinedown). With the release of the CD, OTBS gained a shockwave of momentum, playing a string of shows, including opening slots for Halestorm and Sublime. As Amanda\'s musical vision became more focused (yet more eclectic), changes in personnel became necessary to the band\'s evolution. The current line up, along with Amanda, includes Sean O\'Keefe (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Cris Pelausa (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Rocky (Violin, Guitar, Vocals, and whatever noise machines she can get her grubby mittens on...), Lee Hutt (Drums), and Kevin O\'Keefe (Bass and Backing Vocals). The band is currently in their studio in Norfolk, VA working on their sophomore album. Again working with Matt, the new batch of songs is the result of an inspired period of creativity that shows a fearless attitude and a refusal to be pidgeon-holed. The CD is expected to drop in June, 2014 followed by gigging, gigging, and more gigging. See you on the road!
