Accessories – Boston
My name is Mary Elise Galpin and I am 28 years old, born and raised on the South Shore. I am the owner and sole creator of Native Maverick Designs. Having sewn on and off for the last 12 years, most of my skills are self-taught. I love art, and sewing is my passion.
Although I graduated from Boston College in 2010 with my bachelors degree in Nursing, I ultimately chose my sewing machine over scrubs. I am currently a single-mother to my 8-year-old daughter, working from home, and pursing my art. I have never regretted this decision.
Born in 2014, Native Maverick Designs is a small homegrown business providing handmade, homemade, and custom made purses, bags, scoodies, clothing, tapestries and more. I specialize in customized handcrafted applique patches using a satin stitch on a regular sewing machine, as well as embroidered patches stitched entirely by hand (no machine whatsoever!!).
