Nate Binion and the Moonshine Miracle

Music – Tulsa

A small church school orchestra and a forced membership to the all female alto section in his mom\'s small church choir is where Nate Binion discovered his love for writing and performing music. Being in a musical family, Nate learned piano and to sing on the church pew while trying to play every instrument he could get his hands on. This journey carried him to study music at the University of Oklahoma. But, Nate thought music would only be in his peripheral after graduating with a music degree from OU; he felt a call to be a preacher. But, after a decade of teaching elementary school and working in ministry his wife was diagnosed with a muscle disease and he began to write stories again about pain, family and culture. Those stories became songs. This journey overtook him so much that he took the cloth and the classroom to a stage. He is still passionate about teaching but feels he is teaching most about courage from the \"other side of the stage\". NBMM wants to tell stories of redemptive brokenness that is reminiscent of something old but saying something new. Nate Binion reaches from his love of soul music, the sounds he heard under the pew as a preacher\'s kid, his love for rock/jazz to produce a very unique sound. This is Nate Binion and the Moonshine Miracle
