Visual Art – Melbourne

I started taking my illustration work a lot more seriously after a brief career as a muralist in my mother's home - at the age of three. I've come a long way from drawing crude stick figures on bedroom walls, however, trading my box of crayons for a bottle of ink and a sable brush at the age of twenty-two. Attempting to claw my way back to the way I remember the Australian zeitgeist of the 1990s, my comics and illustrations are nostalgic and brightly coloured, allowing me a temporary escape from the fast-paced, technology-driven world of today. My main publication, 'Drongo', is a serial comic which touches on a variety of themes including gentrification, globalisation, mental illness, childhood, and fears for the future.
