I recall the vast openness of the French farmland where I grew up, the fertile earth and fragrant bloom after a rain. Colors come to mind - blue tumbling sky and golden fields of wheat and corn. These early impressions were the canvas that mirrored my emotional landscape and the inspiration that set the tone for a life of creative wanderings. Blending things is a quiet hobby of mine. A primitive satisfaction is evoked from watching paint collide or gemstones intermingle. Diversity fascinates me and pushing against something that doesn’t know it is meant to be – watching it become. Today, residing in the wild Mountains above the Ojai Valley, I feel anchored by nature and fueled by life’s mystique. Having launched my own jewelry business I look for ways to translate what is unspoken and unseen into tangible form by using symbolic treasures from the earth. Gemstones, feathers, wood, shell and bone have spiritual properties revered throughout the ages - my aim is to marry the attributes of every object used in my designs, with the qualities we hope to cultivate in our own lives. May these artful adornments bring you as much joy as I experience in their creation.
