BVMINICHIELLO

Visual Art – Vancouver

Brian Minichiello’s feet are firmly planted in the West Coast, but his oil paintings stretch high above the ground. He has said, “Art is like the sky: an ever evolving canopy that shelters life, and a portal to the unknown and infinite.” His skyscapes explore this duality as he blends techniques like chiaroscuro and impressionism with the subtlety of Asian ink brushing into a contemporary “multi-cultural”, multi-dimensional style. He has adapted the Renaissance technique of glazing to produce a unique form of Canadian landscape painting that produces the illusion of enormous depth and distance. Because this Vancouver artist believes the ultimate goal of art is to provide a catalyst for creative inspiration, he paints in homage to the environments and people who have inspired him.
