Mieko is not just an aspiring artist - she is an aspiring scientist. While studying a Masters of Science animal nutrition, she uses her art to showcase the intersection of science, endangered species conservation, and creativity. Her research interests include: the gut microbiome; nutrition and metabolism; veterinary medicine; species conservation and sustainable/zero-waste practices.
Animals continue to be her inspiration, along with geometric patterns and lines. Mieko hopes that by including a variety of endangered species in her works, she can reach a broad audience to share educational information on conservation, science, and how art is a tool to teach promote these important messages!
