Visual Art – Chicago
My name is Mahmud, known on Instagram as MahmudTheMedium, and Muddy from my graffiti days. I am an artist based in Chicago and I have been creating art for most of my life. It started with pencils, then markers, which then led to graffiti, and then acrylics. Currently, I primarily paint on canvas with acrylics, I create mixed media illustrations on bristol paper, as well as digital artwork. Within my art, I have developed a few original characters that represent a constant battle between negative and positive energy within my work. I strive to tell new and/or continued stories with each new piece that I create. My pieces can sometimes represent various panels within the same story board in my head.
