Photography – Boston

Photography has always had a deep impact on me. I began my journey by learning from my peers and practicing a few years ago. I grew up in India and moved here when I was finishing up high school. Throughout my undergraduate, I practiced and enjoyed photography as a hobby, and mostly used my phone. I quickly understood that I enjoyed taking landscape photos around campus, and Western Massachusetts was a great place to be for all the seasons (for photography haha). I moved for graduate school in Boston in 2016, and during the spring the following year, I decided to practice photography with my DSLR. Today, landscape photography continues to be one of my favorite and sometimes abstract work just to try things out. I had the opportunity to pick up social photography via Instagram meet ups in Boston, where I learned more about portrait and fashion photography and met many local creators and artists as well. I work locally, so I spend a lot of my time in the city trying new coffee shops in my spare time away from work. And when I'm not there, I'm usually walking around trying not to bump into people while taking pictures. Most my work now is usually on my phone but I even it out usually with some DSLR clicks, I'm still learning every day. I think social photography today has a huge impact on my learning and it gives me a space to share ideas and meet amazing and talented individuals. I'm glad that I found photography as it allows me to express myself in ways that words can't. Profile Image Credits: Stacy Dimapelis
