My name is Annie Bach and I am an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer living in Seattle. I've always had a deep interest in creative pursuits - drawing, painting, photography, and digital art - though I only dabbled in them throughout school. It was only after graduating college that I realized that art was more than just a hobby and had become a central part of my identity. I suddenly couldn't imagine doing anything else. I pursued 3D character art in the gaming industry, T shirt design, and various digital arts - but after the birth of my daughter I discovered that my true passion was in children's illustration. I try to capture the joys and interests of early childhood: whimsical, bright, playful scenes featuring friendly animals and fanciful monsters. I am often inspired by the same small, everyday wonders that interested me as a child - a walk in the woods, flying a kite, or a beautiful mushroom. My work is largely digital, though I also experiment in gouache, pen and ink, and various mixed media. Currently I am in the process of illustrating a collection of children's storybooks, which I hope will give my creations a life of their own.
