Visual Art – Omaha
Lauren Baird is a contemporary figurative sculptor who creates life scale and instillation based artwork that investigate the concept of body image, intimate moments and self-acceptance. Baird was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, received her Bachelor in Art from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, and completed her Master of Fine Art at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
During Baird's six years of working in clay, she has had work accepted into international exhibitions including, America’s Clay Fest III, juried by Tip Toland and Peter Held, and The Ninth Annual Human Form Exhibition, curated by Bob Swearinger. During the winter of 2016, Baird has also completed an international residency at the Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute in Sanbao, China.
