Visual Art – Kitchener-Waterloo
I am a Printmaker based in Kitchener-Waterloo. I mainly work with block print and drypoint techniques. The pieces you will see qt the RAW show are all original pieces of art and are hand carved into linoleum blocks. I also use metal plates that are etched by hand and are pulled through a printing press to create an original piece. All of my art has roots in illustration. Drawing techniques are always part of the process in developing my prints. I am currently working on an illustration series based on my life as a small girl growing up in Southwestern Ontario. I believe that art is so important, and in current times with so much rapid change, it is even more so. I am also an arts educator and believe that the arts should be made accessible to all.
