Kristine Paiz

Visual Art – Los Angeles

Each artwork is deeply personal and emotional to Kristine, they create bodies of work that appear abstract in order to encourage a relationship between each piece and the viewer. During the painting process Kristine is inspired by musics ranging from Mozart's Requiem to Between the Buried and Me's Colors, the beauty of nature, and their own experience in the world. When choosing a new body of work, they meditate on which message to share. Painting for over 20 years, Kristine has settled on mixed media; using acrylics, house paint, spray paint, oil paint sticks, and paper. Heavily influenced by Willem De Kooning and Jackson Pollock, Kristine uses an aggressive stroke and movement in hopes of appropriating the style in a way that empowers womxn, queer, and non-binary individuals.
