Music – Charlotte

Kelcey is a 24 yr. old singer-songwriter currently residing in Greensboro, NC. Born and raised in Southern Pines, NC (right outside of the Fort Bragg Military Base) by her mother a retired schoolteacher, her late father who served in the army and an older sister who is a professional event planner and artist. From a young age, she dreamt of becoming a singer but didn’t believe it was possible until a few years ago, she bought her first guitar and could finally bring her songs to life. She was brought up on early 90’s R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul and Alternative Rock; her musical influences range from Jill Scott, Boys II Men, Radiohead and Little Dragon, to name a few. Focusing on a blend of the R&B, Pop, Soul & Alt Rock genres; she writes about love and happiness, but doesn’t forget about struggle, loss, equality, fear and success. She uses her personal experiences and stories from close friends to inspire her to put thoughts on paper (or napkins and receipts, whatever’s within reach). Right now, the songstress is in the process of recording her very first EP to be released by the summer of 2015. Someday she wants to take her music across the US and eventually the world. Kelcey is available for booking at [email protected], or check out her Facebook Music Page under the name Kelcey or on Twitter, @fenderforkelcey.
