Photography – Baltimore

When considering my art I have always found myself attracted to images that communicate honesty. To be honest with oneself is the first “step” in the process of admitting that one has a problem. When I started working with photography I was dealing with a serious eating disorder, therefore my work was based around the stereotypes and documentation of eating disorders. Art played a huge role in my recovery process. Since the beginning of that exploration I have come to find that there is not one specific way to personally accept one\'s body. Every person takes a different route to find acceptance. Over the years, since my recovery, I have become more interested in the way women and adolescents think, and the way they perceive themselves. It will always be an ongoing investigation, and a reflection of my past. All I want is to gain insight on the world around me.
