JaNishia "J Grin" Grinston is a 90's Baby's hailing from East St. Louis. She learned that she had a passion for writing at an extremely young age and utilized it as an outlet, which inevitably sharpened the gift. From penning stories to writing poems, JaNishia eventually married the two forms in the Art of Spoken Word. Though her work is primarily based in poetry, she maximizes the talent through artistry, which is how she coined the stage name: "J Grin Artistry". She recently released "Homegrown: The EP" which is a body of work that expresses the growing pains of young adulthood but from the perspective of a church kid that's deciding to mature. Her heart is to see her generation reconciled to God, through Jesus Christ, and she refuses to slow down until this mission is complete.
