Jenie Thai is rapidly building a musical presence throughout Western Canada with her electric energy on stage and the old soul that translates through her songwriting. With a lifetime of piano playing, a voice that spans more than three octaves, and a unique combination of folk, blues, soul, and rock influences, Jenie has been gaining international accolades for her songwriting and blues playing.
In 2012, she received an honourable mention from The International Songwriting Competition (which received more than 16, 000 submissions from around the globe) and more recently, she represented Northern Alberta as a semi-finalist in the 30th International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee (2014).
With the release of her new album, “Only The Moon”, Jenie has been receiving airplay across North America from Florida, to New York, and coast to coast across Canada. Following the release, Jenie Thai was nominated as “Artist to Watch” (2013) and “Female Artist of the Year” (2014) from the Edmonton Music Awards. \"Only The Moon\" showcases her emotionally crafted songwriting blended with her large vocal range and effortlessly tasteful piano, but her live performance is where Jenie Thai shines; she consistently leaves her heart on the stage.
