Music – Boston

i like the term sad-core or 'avant-indie'(like avant-garde) to describe my music, because it is both eclectic in sound and subject matter. the music and lyrics are written by me and the piano/vocals are played by me on the recordings so some may call it singer-songwriter music, which it is, but i don't like to give off the wrong impression by saying "singer-songwriter" and automatically you picture a folk singer with a guitar. i'm into making music that is pretty to the ear, truthful in its words, and touching to the heart. it's emo(tional) and raw sounding in its mix. some call it sultry, others find it soothing and/or beautiful. some say it is sad, and sometimes it is. it really depends, because each song is truly unique and experimental. some are more poppy and upbeat, some have a jazzy vibe. most of my songs are inspired by people or situations that have incited a feeling within that is out of the ordinary. I was adopted from South Korea when I was an infant and I've never felt that I really made sense as a person, however, music came naturally. i've been doing music my whole life. it is my life. ***inspired by fiona apple, bright eyes, radiohead, mirah, alicia keys, feist, portishead... if anything, i'd just love for my music to reach people that can get something from it...whatever that may be.
