I'm Isabel, a digital illustrator born and raised in Austin, TX. My work centers around themes of fantasy, romance, horror, and occultism. I use fantastical themes and bright colors to explore my own personal demons and desires. I've gone through a bunch of difficult changes lately, and so I've been striving to explore that with my artwork. My work is largely character-based, but I have found that is because I find the most value in character-based stories that ripple with emotional resonance. Though many of my characters have a still, statuesque quality to them (unrelatable and inhuman), their style and surroundings are always a little off or out-of-this-world. I've found that in trying to get these other-worldly creations to relate to viewers, it echoes my own attempt to relate to humanity itself--something I've struggled with for a long time. But, this is the year for conquering fears. Even my logo, which I place on each artwork, is a glyph of my own making from the words "I am unafraid."
