Niko Allen is disrupting the world of R&B and creating his own lane in the
process. The South Florida native began his music career as a drummer and pianist in his local
church choir. It wasn’t until his senior year of high school when Allen fell in love with songwriting
after meeting a notable South Florida producer.
Allen made moves in South Florida’s music industry as an intern at Poe Boy Entertainment’s
marketing division. Rubbing shoulders with South Florida’s top hip hop artists like Flo-Rida and
Brisco, the young songwriter began expanding his talents within his community.
Allen’s relentless work ethic and raw talent, landed the songwriter opportunities to work with
Grammy Award-winning producer Vinny Venditto, Nickelodeon artist Nick Merico and New
Jersey artist King Demic; just to name a few. After writing for multiple artists, Allen stepped into
the spotlight as a recording artist in 2015. Allen took matters into his own hands and put his
dreams into action.
The new recording artist started releasing remixed covers to popular R&B songs online which
steadily grew his fan base. Thanks to hard work and the power of social media, Allen began
performing on stages in Miami, Atlanta and several cities across the nation. In 2016, Allen
performed at the legendary Too $hort 30th Anniversary show in Oakland, California with
heavyweights like George Clinton, Lil’ Dicky and Iamsu!
Allen draws musical inspiration from everyday life experiences. Whether inspired by a personal
experience or one shared with friends, Allen’s music relates to anyone who has endured the ups
and downs of a relationship. He discusses infidelity, break-ups, love and everything in between.
Born to Haitian parents, Allen’s cultural heritage also plays a big role in his production.
After the tragic loss of his sister and niece, Allen is on a mission to inspire others to keep going
with his music. His love for storytelling is apparent in his relatable lyrics blended with soothing
vocals giving his music an undeniable universal appeal. A true musician, Allen is a prime
example of how confidence, hard work and grit conquers all.
His new single “What It Is Tho” is a smooth R&B vibe dedicated to the ladies who have their
own. In the song, Allen meets his ideal woman and genuinely pleads for some of her time. The
feel-good summer anthem is now available on iTunes, Spotify and Soundcloud.
