Visual Art – Baltimore

Leo Hylan is a Multimedia Artist, Photographer, Filmmaker, Video Artist (Installation and VJ), and Electronic Musician from the Baltimore / Washington area. He received his B.F.A. in New Media from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an M.A.T. in Arts Education and an M.F.A in Digital Arts from Goucher College. Leo is an Award Winning Artist who has had featured solo and group exhibitions for his multimedia work in prestigious galleries throughout the mid-atlantic region. Leo has also created large public video installations including Commerce Square and The Kimmel Center Video Cube in downtown Philadelphia. In addition to these exhibitions and installations, Leo is also a multimedia performer. These performances can be in the form of electronic music, experimental sound, live video or any combination of the three. He has performed at various locations throughout the Baltimore/Washington, Asheville, Philadelphia, and New York areas. This includes live video performances for nationally acclaimed musicians such as Telesma, Alto Verde (Andy Bopp), and others. As a filmmaker he has produced three short films that use or combine 16mm, 8mm, and Video. All of which have been selected to be shown at premier cinemas including the Gene Siskel Film Center in downtown Chicago. Leo Hylan is a Founder and and Instructor of Film, Video, Artistic Development, 21st Century Design, and Digital Media at the first Arts Magnet Program in his now hometown of Annapolis, MD. He has also been published in several Art Education Curricula and Journals.
