Madison, WI artist Heather Andresen is best known for her intricate and macabre embroideries.
Growing up in rural Mississippi, she learned how to sew under the tutelage of her grandmother, who between hand rolling loose tobacco cigarettes and making mounds of fluffy, southern banana pudding, also taught Heather how to quilt, be sarcastic and witty, sit and act like a lady, be outspoken yet tactful, and how to put yourself in your work.
