Music – Kansas City

As Quintin “DJ Q” Randle moves, so does the crowd. Q, one of Kansas City’s premier disc jockeys, is the gust behind the city’s nightlife scene. He has played Kansas City’s largest and most popular venues to packed, lively crowds. It’s been that way for more than 10 years. With his passion for music evident, Q has no plans of that changing. Music has always been at the center of DJ Q’s life. His mixed CDs were in demand during his college years. Out of his love for music, he made mixes. His friends loved them and trumpeted them to other people. They had to have their own copies. This thirst planted the seed for what was to come. Q returned to Kansas City from college in 2002. He hit the nightlife scene and found himself spending money he didn’t have. Hanging one night in a Kansas City watering hole, ideas began percolating. Q wanted to monetize the nightlife scene. Not sink cash into it. Not too long after that night, Q began deejaying weekly poetry nights and some recreational events. Within three years, he transitioned to a career DJ, with regular gigs at a host of Kansas City nightclubs, venues, weddings and affairs. He’s blossomed into one Kansas City’s most revered and booked disc jockeys. His career travels and notoriety have led him to consistent gigs throughout Missouri and Kansas, but with showcase stops in California, Texas, Puerto Rico, Iowa, Florida and Oklahoma. He has accompanied many artists including Grammy Award winner Brian Kennedy, Grammy Award winner Tank, Trey Songz, J. Holiday, Rick Ross, Bobby Valentino, Young Jeezy, Gorilla Zoe, Q (from 112) and Chief Wakil. He has had gigs at many Kansas City-area venues including The Sprint Center, The College Basketball Experience, Gem Theater, Mission Theater, Isle of Capri Casino, VooDoo Lounge (Harrah's Casino), Power & Light Dist, Martini Corner, Westport (Firefly, Gusto Lounge and Riot Room), Historical 18th & Vine Jazz Dist, Ra Sushi, Drunken Fish, Aloft Hotel, Bar Louie, Aura, 1%, Bartle Hall, Municipal Auditorium Q also works different events for companies who hosts events such as Higher Ground Entertainment and Twelve Magazine (First Fridays KC), Clay Johnson Foundation, PURE Entertainment, Joey Cuts Barber Salon and the Know Joey?
