Derek Humphrey

My name is Derek, and I like to art. I've created for as long as I can remember. From crayons, to pencils, to pens, paint, and on and on. After all this time I've mostly kept my work to myself, close friends, and family. It was only mid-September that I finally decided to start sharing my art to the world. To my surprise and glee it really seems to be resonating with quite a few people. Then RAW Artists reached out to me to be part of their upcoming show, to which now my only regret is that I didn't share my work sooner! I mostly work in two dimensional media, with a large focus on ink. But pastels, paints, and other pigments joining in regularly. Lately I've been expanding into three dimension with wood and clay. To this day I can't seem to be satisfied with sticking with one set of materials. Each offers its own unique advantages and disadvantages, and when combined can produce some amazing stuff... it can also produce garbage. Such is life when mixing media. I like to take on new challenges, new chapters, new experiences, and am constantly wanting to move forward onto what life has to offer next. Right now, life is saying a fantastic RAW showcase is what's up next, and I hope to see you there!
