Visual Art – Denver

My name is Daniela "Yela" La Rosa, I am a portrait artist and all-over experimental creative born in Lima, Peru. I began my journey as an artist at a very early age, pursuing formal education from ages 12-19 and continuing on my own in the years that followed. I have worked with dozens of different materials including brewed coffee, wood+woodburning, traditional paints (watercolor, acrylic, oil), eye shadows, mud, charcoal (store-bought & natural), gum wrappers, packing tape, graphite, red wine, beeswax, styrofoam, fire, ink from exploded pens, period blood... you name it. My particular style entails a deep personal transformation through portraits mostly meant to inspire, provoke, excite and arouse, and at other times make one think and connect. As I fade out of a material experimentation phase, I am delving into something more concrete and refining my message and skill.
