Photography – Sydney

I am a 35-year-old landscape photographer who only uses film; 35mm and medium format. Film lends itself so well to moody imagery, and I enjoy finding the darkness in such a bright and sunny place as Australia. I love to travel slowly around the country in no particular direction and shoot anything that catches my eye. I pick a point on the map, and give myself a few weeks to get there and back, and have no plans as to what I might come across, or what roads I turn down on the way to get there. The unending Australian landscape has so much to offer the traveller who takes their time. Using an essentially finite resource like film means that everything I shoot is carefully selected and composed, and only shot once or twice. I never digitally alter or enhance my images in any way. All the images showcased on the night will be hand-printed from the original negative.
