The Crayon Girl

Visual Art – New York - NYC

I am a self-proclaimed Urban Whimsical Crayon Artist and as far as I know I am the only one of my kind. There are others who chose the crayon as their main form of creation but whimsical they are not. I have worked “grown up” jobs from Retail Conceptual Development to operating a Construction Company and from Teaching to running the Art Department at the Norwalk YMCA. Throughout those occupations and years of wondering “why am I doing this?”, I came to the conclusion that my only true joy is those 64 colorful sticks of wax...Crayons. With the exception of Cornflower blue which is worthless. I am a native New Yorker who spent her teenage years tearing up the hardcore scene in Washington, DC. When my mohawk finally grew out, I decided a formal education would be good. So I went off and put myself through college earning a degree in English. Later I would add Architecture to my resume but along the way I realized that finishing crossword puzzles and drawing buildings that will probably be the demise of earth just didn't do it for me. So with the support of my loving husband and family, I am finally fully emerged in my true passion. Bringing color to the world, bringing smiles to those who enjoy an adult with a crayon fetish and leaving behind a message that dreams are boundless and with whimsy in our lives nothing truly is black and white.
