Visual Art – Kitchener-Waterloo

Chantal Zettel is a Canadian, Mixed Media Artist based out of the Tri City's, her studio is located in Kitchener, Ontario. Because Chantal’s work consists of mixed media, she likes to dabble in a little bit of everything. However, she works mostly with acrylic paint and is inspired by feminine/feminist concepts and actions. Through out Chantal’s life she have always been interested in art and being creative. In grade 8 she received the Arts award; and, from there she knew she had a talent that she should pursue. In grade 11 she received the Fine Art award for her skills and ability. Then in grade 12, she received the Co-op award for being the Kindergarten Art Assistant. After those accomplishments in her early years she went on to study Art at Fanshawe College for three years. There she received an Advanced Diploma and had the privilege to sell one of her paintings to the College. Thus now a part of their permanent collection. She then transferred to NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) where she obtained her Bachelors of Fine Art in 2011. During both her post secondary studies and outside of the institution, she has participated in many exhibitions and festivals. At the beginning of this year she took the leap to becoming a full time Artist. Since then she has been in her studio producing her new series, and selling commission work. She has also recently started teaching private art lessons. Being an emerging artist this year, her goal is to submerse herself in art and create a dialogue between artists and like minded people. In the future she would like to apply for grants to start her own Art based business.
