Visual Art – Chicago

Bryn Gleason is a New York based Artist who recently relocated to Chicago. She received her BFA in Printmaking from the University of Minnesota in 2013. Though Gleason does not limit herself to any one medium, her work is heavily focused on the Intaglio Copper Etching process, utilizing both traditional and contemporary practices. Conceptually, Gleason’s early work focused on familial relationships concerning death, divorce, empathy, adoration, and youthful conceptions of conditional and unconditional love. Her current works convey intimate moments between queer women, depicting a range of emotions birthed from expressions of intense passion, personal independence, heartache, and the delicacy of a loving heart. Gleason intends to underline the beautiful and complex physicality of human heartache, often incorporating delicate and detailed images with aggressive and sporadic line work.
