Beatrice & the Beast Art

Visual Art – Nashville

Beatrice and the Beast Art is the studio moniker for the newly local Nashville visual artist Kayla Byrn. Originally from NY, Byrn studied at Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn where she majored in Fine Art Painting. Her body of work primarily focuses on nude figure paintings in mixed media and acrylic, drawing on her classical training and deep roots in art history and gender studies to inform her subject matter. She also works extensively in watercolor and ink illustrations. These tend to explore the darker side of surrealism and sexuality in whimsical narratives that define the Beatrice and the Beast style Byrn is most known for. Byrn has shown and curated in galleries across Southwest Florida, and hopes to continue showing her work in Nashville and on a national level.
