Astrom Illustration

Visual Art – Connecticut

I grew up in Wallingford, CT and have been doing art for as long as I can remember. I started off by taking oil painting classes in the fifth grade at a local art place named Easel Works. I fell in love with art at that moment but I didn\'t know exactly what I wanted to do with it. In 2009 I attended the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School. Soon enough I found my calling in illustration. I graduated with a bachelor\'s degree in illustration from the University of Hartford in 2012 under the training of Bill Thomson, Doug Andersen, Dennis Nolan and Jackie Decker. During my time there I developed a style where I can use lots of textures and fine details with Acrylic Inks and Watercolor. Over the summer i was i the Radiate show and i was also honored to be a semi finalist in the RAWards! I loved the RAW team so much that i joined on in Feb to be a production assistant and help out with the shows. In August i am leaving to Maryland for Americorps. I look forward to being a part of that for a few months and helping people who truly need it. Then i plan on going back to school, hopefully at Albertus Magnus, for Art Therapy. We\'ll see what happens from there! Thanks for swinging by and I hope you like what you see! Any questions/comments feel free to email! [email protected]
