Visual Art – Raleigh
As soon as Arwen was old enough to hold a pencil she discovered the joy of drawing, and away went the young dreamer. The most important day of her life came quite early, when in elementary school she learned something amazing and wonderful: People could actually make a LIVING making art!
From that point on Arwen made art her life. Every chance she had to learn something new, whether inside or outside the classroom, she took. This process continued through college up to graduation. After college Arwen knew it was time to develop her personal style, and this is exaclty what she did. In her first year of college one of her professors suggested watercolor. Now Arwen took it upon herself to master the medium. With a small selection of watercolors to mix and a couple watercolor books for professionals, Arwen spent a year and a half practicing the medium until it clicked.
Today Arwen continues exploring her style and creating beautiful fantasy and spiritual artwork. She has shown her art in a number of galleries, shops, and fantasy and science fiction conventions in North Carolina and the eastern US, including TrinocCon, Chattacon, Philcon, Arisia, Fanaticon and more, has won several fantasy art awards, including Philcon\'s \"Best Aspiring Professional Fantasy Artist\" and participates with several recognizable art organizations including RAW Artists.
