Visual Art – Denver

I am self taught and my inspiration has always been from the comic book fantasy realm. Artists like Jim Lee and Michael Turner were the two big comic book artists that fueled my passion for what I do. But comic books never really seemed like fun as drawing the same thing over and over seemed not only redundant, but very creatively limited. Drew Struzan's amazing movie posters over the many years was always a huge inspiration as I love telling a story in a single image. That really propelled me to do what I do now, I really enjoy taking several elements, planning out a piece and how I want to tell my story, and doing it in a dynamic and creative way. I take on commission work frequently ranging from tattoo art, business work, an personal paintings/illustrations. I love taking on challenges as they always push me to grow and expand what I think I can do. I currently live in Greeley with my incredible and lovely wife Liz Benfield. Shes a huge inspiration to me, and since I've been with her I have been inspired to take what I know and pass it on. I work for the Weld County School District and in 2016 I began an art program for the high schooler's where I teach them various mediums and techniques. It's a blast and I love it, almost as much as I love doing my art. If you have any questions or interested in a piece or having something commissioned feel free to contact me.
