Visual Art – Toronto

My name is Anne K Abbott, and I’ve been making art, in one way or another, my entire life; I cannot remember a time when I did not feel the need to create. I create my paintings by using my index finger instead of a brush. I also write a daily blog The main themes I explore are: feelings of invisibility and inequality, positive body image, and a humourous spin on the way the general public views people with disabilities. Throughout the years, my art has been shown at the CN Tower (“Beginnings”, 1986), Creative Spirit Gallery (1985), Show Gallery (“Reflections”, 1997), Pawsway (2007), the Church St. 501 Community Centre (‘Nudes”, 2006), the AGO (“Disability Arts Movement”, 2010), the Abilities Art Festival (2010), Weird Things Gallery ("Misconceptions" 2016), and on-going at the St. Lawrence Market.
